Feb 2006 to May 2009 – Subject Matter Expert Team – Active Directory / Windows Exchange Expert – (Developer/Engineer)
The 3rd level Subject Matter Expert position involved resolving all escalated cases and applying permanent solutions, participating in multiple global projects, maintaining all support documentation, performing global training and application testing and to reduce the amount of calls to the global helpdesks.
This position required the continuous updating of skills and knowledge and placed a strong emphasis on teamwork and technical problem solving.

Core Duties:
•    Primary contact for active directory (server 2003 / 2008) and windows exchange issues. Any new issues that arose had to be resolved, the root cause analyzed and a permanent fix applied, with any needed knowledge base/documentation updates or training performed.
•    Resolve all escalated cases from the advanced team within time frame.
•    Provide support for ongoing MADO deals (Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestures and Outsourcing), which involved interacting with the integration team to organize the bulk creation of thousands of accounts and user shares, detecting any potential problems and advising on what was and was not possible, be it for security or technical reasons.
•    Maintain and update the team’s sharepoint portal.
•    Helpdesks/Advanced team training ( information security, active directory + windows exchange issues and HP specific tools/systems )
•    Documentation creation and maintenance complying with corporate standards and corporate information security guidelines.
•    New/updated Application testing – refusing potential releases when issues were found and working with the development team to resolve any problems.
•    Development of new tools and procedures.
•    Granting/denying permissions in active directory and various internal HP systems.
•    Provide direct support for new executive hires and to resolve escalated executive issues immediately.

Core Achievements:
•    Created helpdesk application used globally, preventing the need to apply AD permissions and giving a backup to the multimillion dollar web based system. Solutions to new issues can easily be coded and released to the helpdesk quickly.
•    Developed over a dozen full C# windows applications, half released to individual teams allowing them to do specific tasks themselves, eliminating the cases from the helpdesks. The remaining applications used by the helpdesks or internal admin teams increasing their efficiency without risking security.
•    Performed training on active directory / windows exchange issues to over 100 employees in Costa Rica.
•    Performed regular global training via virtual rooms with all helpdesks.
•    Developed a large amount of scripts for various projects aimed at cleaning up active directory, including the removal of ownerless / unwanted objects, bulk attribute alterations and bulk object creations.

The 2nd level security administration and support (SAS) position involved the administration and support of HP’s Internal W2K Active Directory and Exchange object environment, through management of end user access and privileges for all HP employees.

Core Duties:
•    Resolve all escalated cases from the helpdesks within time frame.
•    Work with 3rd level to provide solutions to ongoing issues.
•    Documentation creation and maintenance complying with corporate standards and corporate information security guidelines.

•    Developed applications to allow easier support of large MADO deals allowing the examination of multiple AD objects, locating potential problems before they became an issue.

The 1st level KPMG technical analyst position involved providing support for the accountancy and consulting firm’s 32 applications. The majority of problems were application based and involved providing user education over the phone.

Feb 2001 to Nov 2001 – Internal Compaq/HP Helpdesk (Technical Analyst)
The 1st level internal technical analyst position involved providing telephone support for internal Compaq employees, supporting a broad spectrum of applications and operating systems. I resolved a high percentage of client problems using relevant tools and systems. I managed all calls logged and provided regular updates to clients on call status. I received various awards for my quick and helpful attitude.

After receiving my redundancy, I decided to take a working tour of Europe. I started in Holland and ended up in the south of France. I changed jobs every couple of weeks, taking a month off in every country to explore.
